Mural Celebration Invite

MoCo Arts will formally commemorate a new mural as a "Celebration of the Arts". The mural was conceived to breathe new life into an old building and improve Railroad Street. As a community arts project, this mural clearly says that Keene is where "art" happens, is important, and is appreciated. Art and culture are critical parts of Keene's vision for the future.

Built from an abandoned machine shop, MoCo Arts enrolls over 2,000 students throughout the year. MoCo is a non-profit organization, helping students develop "skills for life" through the joy and the rigor of arts education. The transformation of the outside of the building represents how MoCo Arts really does transform lives through movement and creative expression.

Mayor, Dale Pregent, City Manager, John MacLean, and Commissioner of the New Hampshire Department of Cultural Resources, Van McLeod will join MoCo Arts in recognizing Elizabeth Anvari, the mural artist. Timken, the lead sponsor, members of the jury, and the many local businesses and individuals who supported this community arts project over the past seven months will also be in attendance. The event will culminate with a lively performance from MoCo's teen musical theatre students. The public is invited.
